Biography

I came up to the Lake District as a student in the early seventies and was, enthralled, excited and inspired by its natural beauty.
During the next twenty years or so I juggled my love of painting and drawing with bringing up 3 boys, and fulltime teaching.
My passion for ceramics was born about fifteen years ago when I encountered a wonderful ceramic blackbird by Anna Adams at Abbot Hall Art Gallery (the bird is now a permanent resident at Blackwell). I then began making ceramics under the guidance of Mike and Vicky Eden
I now spend my time juggling my own work with teaching, commissions, family, and walking on the fells with my partner Hughie. I sell my work through different galleries in the Lake District and North West and exhibit with Bay Potters and Northern Potters and Green Door Studios.
